| Summary: | Wouter Südkamp summarizes the most distinctive traces and marks, in text and images, from the Hunsrück Slate of Bundenbach. These belong to his collection (about 180 slabs), which is the largest known. Rare and recently discovered specimens include body fossils with associated escape traces produced by the starfish Urasterella, the mitrate Rhenocystis and the annelid Lepidocoleus. Other sections are devoted to the traces of trilobites and other arthropods, worm traces and burrows, traces of bivalves and echinoderms and some traces produced by unknown makers. Finally, the (tool) marks and occurrence of the traces within the formations of the Hunsrück Slate are described. |
